On Monday, November 25, 2019, at 8:09 PM, Palm Desert deputies responded to a business in the 72000 block of Manufacturing Road, Thousand Palms, reference a theft of landscape machinery in progress. Deputies established a containment perimeter and made announcements. Seven juveniles were detained as they ran away from the yard. No other suspects were located. The investigation revealed the juveniles drove lawn tractors into parked company vehicles, causing major damage to the vehicles and attempted to steal the lawn tractors (Valued over $200,000). The juveniles were transported to the Station for questioning. A 14-year-old male, two 15-year-old males and two 13-year-old males, from Thousand Palms were arrested. Additionally, a 14-year-old male and a 15-year-old male, from Desert Hot Springs were also arrested. All will be charged with grand theft and felony vandalism.
