On Friday, March 29, 2024, at 1:16 a.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Mathews Sheriff’s Station were notified of a kidnapping that occurred in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Woodcrest. The victim, an adult female, had been forced to drive a known suspect from her residence to the city of Riverside. The victim was able to flee from the suspect and contacted Riverside Police Department. With the assistance of the Riverside Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody in the area of Canyon Ridge Road and Laurel Drive.

The suspect was identified as Maurice Gamble, a 32-year-old from Riverside. Gamble was later booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on several charges, including kidnapping, false imprisonment, and several weapons charges. This is an ongoing investigation, and no additional information is available at this time.
