On Thursday, November 12, 2019, The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team conducted a pedestrian check in the 79000 block of Highway 111, and contacted Shon Harding, 31-years-old of La Quinta. Harding is a registered sex offender currently on parole. It appeared Harding was out of compliance of the terms of his parole and sexual offender registration status. A compliance check was conducted, at the address provided during his sexual offender registration. The investigation revealed Harding violated the terms of his parole by failing to properly register and being in areas he is prohibited from. Harding was booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
The Thermal Sheriff’s Station conducts sexual offender compliance checks on a regular basis. Large-scale operations will be planned in the near future.
