On Friday, December 20, 2019, at 12:20 AM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Cabazon Station, assigned to the city of Calimesa responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 7-11 convenience store located at 301 W. County Line Road, Calimesa. Their investigation revealed store merchandise and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken during the robbery.  As deputies were concluding their investigation and leaving the area, a deputy noticed two Hispanic male adults running from the Chevron gas station located at 499 Sandalwood Drive, who matched the description of the suspects in the 7-11 robbery. The deputy saw the two males enter an awaiting vehicle and drive off.  The deputies conducted an enforcement stop on the vehicle and detained the four occupants.

Deputies confirmed the two males had just robbed the Chevron gas station at gunpoint and fired one round into the ceiling and were fleeing when the deputy observed them.  Evidence from both robberies was located inside the suspect vehicle.  All four occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested and booked into the Smith Correctional Facility.
