During the year of 2019, the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station (Problem Oriented Policing Team), City of Wildomar, along with the assistance of Social Workers Action Group (SWAG), a non-profit agency, worked together to end the cycle of homelessness through our homeless outreach program.  Below is the years final outreach information for the city of Lake Elsinore.

• The team engaged with homeless individuals 701 times.
• 21 individuals exited the streets.
• 2 individuals were reunited with family.
• 3 individuals were placed into temporary / transitional housing.
• 2 individuals were placed into permanent housing.
• 7 individuals were placed into long term substance abuse centers / housing.
• 5 Veterans were received assistance.
• 110 individuals accepted and received mental health services.
• 4 individuals chose to return to the streets after accepting housing.
• 98 individuals declined to answer outreach questions or listen to the available resources.
• The team collected over 10 tons (20,000 pounds) of debris created by the homeless population.

The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station takes great pride in reaching out to individuals and assisting them with ending their cycle of homelessness.  These individuals have the opportunity to receive additional services to assist them with permanent housing, substance abuse education, financial education and job placement.  We wish them the best of luck as they traverse the path toward improving their lives.
