On Thursday, January 16, 2020, about 01:02 a.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station located a stolen vehicle near the intersection of Brightman Avenue and Blackwell Boulevard, in Lakeland Village. Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the driver failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. The vehicle pursuit ended when the stolen vehicle became disabled on several rocks and debris at the dead end of Rome Hill Road in Lakeland Village. The suspect attempted to flee on foot and was immediately apprehended by deputies. 

The suspect was identified as Abel Hall, a 21- year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, who is currently on probation for possession of a stolen vehicle. Hall was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for Evading, Vehicle Theft, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, and a Probation Violation.


This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with further information is asked to contact Deputy Kramer at (951) 245-3300. As a reminder, “Community Policing” involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members. Business owners and residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency.
