On 11/29/2019, a gang related shooting occurred in the 600 block of S. State St., in the city of Hemet. The victim was unharmed in this incident.

On 12/05/2019, a gang related shooting occurred in the 41800 block of Briarwood Ave., in the unincorporated area of Hemet. There were three victims, with one being a 2 year old child. One of the other victims was shot multiple times and suffered major injuries. He is still hospitalized due to the severity of his injuries.

Gang Task Force personnel assumed the investigation of both cases, which resulted in multiple search warrants and the arrest of two suspects.

On 01/09/2020, Gang Task Force Officers took Donte Session into custody for attempted murder in the 41800 block of Briarwood Ave., in the unincorporated area of Hemet. Session was found in possession of two firearms, ammunition, and a large capacity handgun magazine. Evidence of gang membership was also located.

On 01/15/2020, Gang Task Force Officers took Devion Washington into custody for attempted murder in the 1200 block of S. Cawston Ave., in the city of Hemet.

GTF personnel were assisted by the Riverside County District Attorney Gang Impact Team, the Hemet Police Department ROCS Team, and the Hemet Police Department Investigations Bureau.

The Riverside County Gang Task Force is a collaborative effort of several local and countywide law enforcement agencies with the goal of providing safe and secure communities free of violent crime and gang violence.
