On Friday, January 31st, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department SWAT, served a weapons related search warrant at a residence in the 17000 block of Corkill Road in Desert Hot Springs. During the service of the search warrant documented gang member, Robert Ramos, 23 of Desert Hot Springs, fled from the residence on foot before being taken into custody a short distance away. Task Force Officers located multiple firearms and narcotics at Ramos’ residence. Ramos is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition.  Additionally, Ramos had an active felony arrest warrant for parole violation. Task Force Officers located a 9mm Glock handgun, .45 caliber Glock handgun, .40 caliber Glock handgun, Smith and Wesson .38 Special revolver, and an AR-15 rifle at the residence. Further investigation revealed that the 9mm Glock handgun was previously reported stolen.  Also located were several high capacity magazines and ammunition. Task Force Officers collected methamphetamine, several MDMA pills (ecstasy), and several Xanax pills. Ramos was arrested for his outstanding Felony Parole Violation Warrant, Being a Felon in Possession of Firearms and Ammunition, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of Narcotics with a Loaded Firearm, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of MDMA, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Ramos was transported to the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in Banning where he was booked.
