On Friday, January 31, 2020, about 11:52 pm, deputies from the San Jacinto station responded to an assisted living facility called the Brighten House, located at 245 East Sixth Street in the City of San Jacinto, regarding a fire. Deputies arrived within three minutes of the call and found a small ceiling fire started in a bathroom exhaust fan. Deputies put the fire out with a fire extinguisher and then began to evacuate residents from the building due to residual smoke. Cal-Fire personnel arrived, confirmed the fire was out and ventilated the building. None of the evacuated residents were injured and return to their rooms approximately 45 minutes after the fire was extinguished.
