On February 10, 2020, after receiving numerous complaints via the We-Tip Crime Reporting Hotline, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, with the assistance of Riverside County Code Enforcement, Riverside County Animal Control and Southern California Edison, served a marijuana cultivation related search warrant in the 43000 Block of Mayberry Ave., Hemet. During the service, 1390 marijuana plants were eradicated, and 300 pounds of processed marijuana was collected, for a total combined weight of approximately a half ton.  Sixty-two lights and ballasts were also removed from the residence. Southern California Edison determined the suspect(s) had been stealing electricity by bypassing the breaker.  

  • 42-year-old Chen Chun was arrested and booked for Marijuana Cultivation and Utility Theft.
