During the month of January, the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, City of Lake Elsinore, along with the assistance of Social Workers Action Group (SWAG), a non-profit agency, was able to assist 7 individuals with ending their cycles of homelessness through our homeless outreach program.  

  • Male 54 years was temporarily housed pending medical clearance for treatment.
  • Male 28 years agreed to be placed into a 90 day residential treatment program. 
  • Male 28 years agreed to be placed into a 90 day residential treatment program
  • Male 53 years agreed to be placed into a 7 day de-tox facility and then into a 90 residential treatment program.
  • Female 20 years agreed to be placed into a 90 day residential treatment program.
  • Male 58 years agreed to be placed into a room and board facility.  
  • Male 22 years was reunited with his family in Chicago, Illinois.
  • 3 of the individuals agreed to accept services but did not stay and returned to the streets.
  • 17 individuals volunteered to receive mental health services.

There were 165 engagements with homeless individuals through our outreach.  Only the above individuals received the assistance to end their cycle of homelessness.  The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station takes great pride in reaching out to individuals and assisting them with ending their cycle of homelessness.  These individuals will have the opportunity to receive additional services to assist them with permanent housing, substance abuse education, financial education and job placement.  We wish them the best of luck as they traverse the path toward improving their lives.

As a reminder, "Community Policing" involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members.  Business owners and residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency.
