On February 23, 2020, at 0452 hours, a Good Samaritan stopped near the 1500 block of Wilson Avenue in the city of Perris, reference a Hispanic female being physically assaulted by a Hispanic male. The Good Samaritan waited with the victim until patrol units arrived. The suspect was later located and arrested. The suspect sustained minor injuries because of his arrest. The victim suffered moderate injuries during the assault by the suspect, and she was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The 26-year-old Hispanic male suspect, later identified as Edward Sayas, a resident of Perris, sustained injuries because of his assault. Sayas was transported to a local hospital for an approval of booking. Sayas was later transported to Cois Byrd Detention Center, where he was booked for Attempted Murder.
