On Wednesday, March 4, 2020, about 4:57 PM, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to a report of traffic collision involving an ATV rider and heavy-duty pickup truck, at Rubidoux Boulevard cross of Market Street, in the city of Jurupa Valley.  Upon arrival, deputies located a down ATV rider on Rubidoux Boulevard. The ATV rider, who was later identified as a 17-year old juvenile, sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.   

The preliminary investigation revealed the ATV rider was traveling eastbound on Market Street cross of Rubidoux Boulevard. The ATV rider proceeded to cross Rubidoux Boulevard against a red light. The heavy-duty pick-up truck was traveling northbound on Rubidoux Boulevard when the collision occurred. The driver of the heavy-duty pick-up truck remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. 

The Jurupa Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Rubidoux Boulevard was closed in both directions for several hours while deputies processed the scene.
