On Friday, March 6th, 2020, at 7:00 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department SWAT, served a search warrant in the 85000 block of Middleton Road in Thermal. During the service of the search warrant documented gang member and convicted felon, Tomas Perez Jr., 33 of Thermal, was arrested after he was found to be in possession of a stolen .45 caliber handgun, ammunition and suspected methamphetamine. Perez was charged with being a Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Controlled Substance while Armed, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Methamphetamine. Perez was booked at the Indio Jail.
