Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) conducted further investigation regarding a commercial burglary that occurred on March 02, 2020, in the 74000 block of Village Center Drive, Indian Wells. BSU identified Zachary Roberts, 26 of Palm Desert, as a suspect regarding this burglary. Roberts was also a suspect in another commercial burglary that occurred on March 14, 2020, in the 72000 block of Highway 111, Palm Desert.
On March 16, 2020, about 6:00 PM, in the 73000 block of Highway 111, BSU located Roberts, who was in possession of a reported stolen golf cart. Prior to deputies contacting Roberts, it was learned that he was under the influence and had fallen out of the stolen golf cart. Roberts was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance prior to him being booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for two counts of commercial burglary, possession of stolen property, grand theft and violation of probation. The total recovered property estimated at $8,900.00.
