Details:

On Monday, October 14, 2019, at 2:08 a.m., Perris Station deputies responded to the LensCrafters located on the 30000 block of Haun Road in the city of Menifee regarding a report of a burglary alarm. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a window to the business was broken and eyeglasses were stolen.

The Perris Station Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation. During the investigation, deputies learned several LensCrafters and Sunglass Hut locations, owned by the Luxottica Group, were burglarized throughout California to include the counties of Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, Kern, and Sacramento, along with the states of Nevada, Utah, Texas, Illinois, and North Carolina. The investigation revealed the stolen eyeglasses from locations throughout the United States were being sold in the city of Los Angeles. On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the Perris Station Robbery/Burglary Suppression Team, along with the Los Angeles Police Department Commercial Crimes Division, served a search warrant at the business located on the 5100 block of Hollywood Boulevard in the city of Los Angeles. Deputies recovered over 880 stolen eyeglasses valued at over $204,800. The search warrant resulted in the largest recovery of merchandise stolen from the Luxottica Group in the state of California and the third largest recovery in the United States.

Pattamatananun Narinchot, a 34 year-old resident of Van Nuys, was contacted and suspected of selling the stolen eyeglasses.  Charges will be requested with the District Attorney’s Office for possession of stolen property as a result of the investigation.
