On Thursday, March 19, 2020, about 9:45 am, investigators from the Palm Desert Station in conjunction with the Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert Special Enforcement Teams, served a search warrant in the 81000 block of Iris Ct., Indio. The search warrant was a result of an ongoing fraud investigation which occurred in the city of Rancho Mirage.
Upon arrival, investigators seized evidence in conjunction with their investigation and located a suspected butane honey oil lab. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Investigations Bureau responded to the scene and processed the lab as well as seized items related to the manufacture of butane honey oil.
Kelly Barnes, 41 years, of Indio, and George Garcia, 43 years, of Indio, were arrested on charges of child endangerment and suspicion of operating a butane honey-oil lab. Barnes and Garcia were booked in the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
