Details:
On Tuesday, March 24, 2020, at 1:18 PM, deputies from the San Jacinto Station responded to a call of an armed robbery that had just occurred at a business in the 2200 Block of W. Esplanade in San Jacinto. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
The suspect was driving at a high rate of speed west bound on the Ramona Expressway near Hanson Blvd. when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a vehicle driving west bound. The suspect was ejected from his vehicle and died as a result of his injuries. The driver of the other vehicle and a passenger were transported to a local hospital and received medical attention for injuries sustained during the collision.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The name of the suspect is still unknown and will not be released until he is positively identified and the family has been notified.
