On March 28, 2020, about 7:40 p.m., deputies assigned to the Colorado River Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon, in the area of 25th and Ramsey avenue, in Ripley. Upon arrival to the area, deputies found a male on the street suffering from gunshot wound trauma. Deputies began emergency life-saving measures until paramedics arrived. A crime scene was secured and station investigators responded. The male succumbed from his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

The decedent was identified as Martin Perez, 23 years of Blythe. The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
