On March 31, 2020, about 9:30 p.m., deputies assigned to the Southwest Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon incident, in the area of the 34000 block of Shallot Dr., French Valley. Upon arrival, deputies found a male on the street in possession of a firearm who was taken into custody without incident. A female with gunshot wounds was also found and transported by paramedics to a local hospital where she is receiving treatment for her injuries. A crime scene was secured and Southwest Station investigators responded and assumed the investigation.
The suspect was identified as Ryan Curtis, 23-years old, of French Valley. He was booked at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center for attempt homicide and child endangerment with a $1,000,000.00 bail. The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
