On Wednesday, April 1st, 2020, deputies from the Colorado River Station were dispatched to the 11000 block of 14th Avenue in the unincorporated area of Blythe, CA reference an illegal marijuana grow at a residence. Deputies from the Palo Verde Valley Rural Crime Team and Colorado River Station Investigation Bureau assumed the investigation. A search warrant was authored for the residence after several items outside showed evidence of an illegal marijuana grow. During the service of the warrant, Deputies seized over 1400 marijuana plants along with several marijuana cultivation tools and items associated with the illegal grow.
Arrested at the residence were: Weixiong Jiang, 34 and Xikun Jiang, 60 both nationals of China.
Under direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, the goal of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is to keep all our citizens safe, while also improving the quality of life for those residing within the community. Marijuana cultivation negatively impacts the environment in many ways, including diminishing and poisoning the water table and pesticides adversely affecting the health of neighboring residents. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department has a zero-tolerance policy for these offenses. If you suspect drug activity in your area, please contact your local Sheriff’s Station.
