Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) conducted further investigation regarding a residential “Cat” burglary that occurred earlier in the morning between the hours of 4:00 am – 8:00 am in the 100 block of Clearwater Way, Rancho Mirage. The victims were inside their residence when the suspect entered and removed property from within the residence. Upon fleeing, the suspect also had stolen an off-road vehicle. At 11:30 am, members of the Riverside Auto Theft Interdiction Detail (RAID), located this stolen off-road vehicle in the area of Varner Road and Harry Oliver Trail, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County, known as Thousand Palms.
With the assistance of RAID, BSU was able to identify and contact the suspect, Wyatt Henderson, 24 years out of Thousand Palms, near the area of the stolen vehicle. Other items matching the stolen property from the Clearwater residence were also located. Henderson, was arrested for the residential “cat” burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property and committing a felony while on bail. Henderson also had several felony warrants for his arrest from San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department and the State of Idaho. Henderson was transported the Riverside County Jail in Indio.
