Details:
On Monday, April 27, 2020, about 9:00 AM, deputies from the Cabazon Station were dispatched to a construction site in the 13000 block of Malki Road reference a stolen vehicle. The vehicle contained equipment for the on-going powerline project in the area.
About 12:30 PM, the vehicle was located unoccupied in the 15000 block of Elm Street. The vehicle had been abandoned and the equipment inside stolen.
About 2:00 PM, information was received regarding the property possibly being located in the 52000 block of Esperanza Avenue. Several deputies responded to the area and detained multiple subjects on the property. Over $200,000 of tools and equipment that had been in the original stolen vehicle was recovered on the property. An additional stolen vehicle, stolen property from previous thefts, and narcotics were also located.
During the investigation, Sean Johnson (35 years-old from Cabazon), Maurine Evans (28 years-old from Cabazon) and Daniel Hernandez (28 Years-old from Cabazon) were arrested for Possession of Stolen Property. Karrie Collins (43 years-old from Cabazon) was arrested for Possession of Narcotics.
