Details:

On Monday, May 18, 2020, about 11:30 p.m., deputies responded to the 33000 block of Sellers Road in the city of Wildomar regarding a report of a suspicious vehicle with a male subject slumped over the steering wheel, unconscious. The reporting party advised that the subject parked his vehicle and had been in the area for several minutes.

Upon arrival, deputies located a male subject, later identified as Tyler William Benjamin, slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle. Deputies attempted to make contact with the subject who did not respond to their commands and appeared asleep.

Cal Fire responded and gained entry into the vehicle. Benjamin was exhibiting the objective signs and symptoms of being under the influence of an unknown controlled substance. A DUI investigation was completed, and Benjamin was arrested for being under the influence of drugs.

Benjamin was transported and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department asks anyone with information pertaining to this investigation to contact Deputy Dyer at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station by calling (951) 245-3300.
