Details:
On June 6, 2020, at 11:11 AM, Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Thermal Station responded to a suspicious circumstance in the area of Van Buren and Airport Blvd., in the county area of Thermal. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered a large gathering of people participating in a fighting rooster competition. During the incident several people were detained. Thirty three live fighting roosters were located and an additional ten roosters were found deceased. Riverside County Animal Control responded to assist with collecting the roosters.
Jesus Lua was arrested for participating in the fighting rooster competition and booked at the Indio Jail.
