Details:

During the month of June 2020, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station County Problem Oriented Policing Team investigated information regarding possible illegal outdoor/ indoor marijuana cultivation occurring within the unincorporated area of Lake Elsinore known as Warm Springs .

On June 18, 2020, at the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, deputies served a search warrant in the 20000 block of 11th Street. The location was converted into an illegal indoor/outdoor marijuana cultivation site. Approximately 5,000 marijuana plants were located in various stages of growth, during the service of the search warrant. Two unregistered firearms were found inside one of the residences. County Code enforcement responded to the location and assumed their investigation. County Code enforcement issued a cease and desist letter to the residence due to unauthorized construction to the residence along with the illegal cultivation.

No one was found at the location during the service of the search warrant. Based on the total weight of the marijuana plants located on the property, the approximate street value is about five million dollars.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Deputy Morris at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station (951) 245-3300.

As a reminder, "Community Policing" involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members. Business owners and residents are encouraged to report criminal activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff’s Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency.
