Details:
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, serving the city of La Quinta, wants to remind residents ALL fireworks are illegal in La Quinta. This includes “Safe and Sane” fireworks such as sparklers.
Violators of firework laws will be prosecuted and are subject to confiscation of fireworks, arrest, citation, and/or fines. A combination of fines for the use of illegal fireworks can cost up to $3,500.
Each year we respond to injuries, accidental fires, and noise complaints from illegal fireworks. Be a good neighbor. Consider pets, people with disabilities who are freighted by loud noises, and our military veterans who may suffer from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder PTSD. Do not include fireworks in your celebrations!
We urge anyone observing the unlawful use of fireworks to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department immediately by calling dispatch at (760) 836-3215. For all immediate threats to life or property, please dial 9-1-1.
