On June 23, 2020, deputies from the Perris Station were dispatched to a report of a house fire on the 1400 block of Cumberland Ct., in the city of Perris. After the Fire Department extinguished the fire, deputies entered the residence and discovered an indoor marijuana grow operation. At the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, deputies wrote a search warrant for the residence. A subsequent search of the property yielded 803 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. All marijuana plants were subsequently eradicated from the property.
