Details:

On Thursday, June 25, 2020, at approximately 6:44 P.M., deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to the 500 block of Soboba Avenue, in the City of San Jacinto, in reference to an explosion call. The reporting party advised that a white female had walked over to the residence and stated her stove had exploded while she was cooking. Responding deputies arrived and located 29-year-old San Jacinto resident Bonnie Vital with severe burns to 30% of her body. Deputies spoke with Vitals boyfriend, 24-year-old San Jacinto resident Armando Alcala who had minor cuts and burns to his upper torso. Deputies could not corroborate their stories and learned they were residing at the rear of the residence in a detached room where they were found. Deputies noticed the detached room had caught fire and had been extinguished prior to their arrival. In the detached room, deputies observed numerous butane canisters, glass tubes and large amounts of marijuana. Deputies determined this room was being used as a Butane Honey Oil Lab (BHO). Deputies requested investigators from our Marijuana Eradication Team respond and they assumed this investigation. Alcala was detained for further questioning and will be released pending further investigation. Vital was air lifted by Mercy Air to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center Burn unit, her condition is serious but stable and is expected to survive.
