Details:

On July 23rd, at 3:35 AM, deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 800 block of Camino Los Banos, City of San Jacinto, in regards to reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival deputies found the victim, 39 year old Gilbert Wah, suffering from a gunshot wound and being attended to by his family. Deputies assisted family members with life saving measures and called for medical aid. Paramedics arrived shortly after and ultimately pronounced Gilbert Wah deceased at the scene. Members of the Sheriff’s Department Central Homicide Unit and Hemet Station Investigators were called to the scene and assumed the investigation. During the course of the investigation the suspect was identified as 39 year old Mario Landry of San Jacinto. Landry eventually returned to the scene and surrendered to deputies. He was later taken to the Cois Byrd Detention Center where he was booked for murder. There are no other outstanding suspects. At the time of this release a motive has not been established.
