Details:
On Friday, July 31, 2020, at 10:11 AM, an adult male inmate from the Cois Byrd Detention Center suffered a life-threatening complication while recovering from surgery at a local hospital. Hospital medical staff administered life-saving measures. The inmate never recovered and was pronounced deceased a short while later at the hospital.
Riverside Sheriff’s Department investigators responded and assumed the investigation. The cause of death will later be determined by the Coroner’s Bureau. The identification of the victim will not be released at this time pending notification to the family. There are no signs of foul play and due to the ongoing status of the investigation, no further information is available at this time.
