The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is saddened to announce the death of a recruit while attending the sworn academy at the Ben Clark Training Center.

On August 11, 2020, Cal. Fire and American Medical Response (AMR) personnel were dispatched to the Ben Clark training Center, in the city of Riverside, regarding a recruit that did not appear to be feeling well. Upon their arrival, the recruit lost consciousness and life saving measures were performed. The recruit was transported by AMR to a nearby hospital; however, he did not survive. The recruit was employed by an outside agency. The name of the recruit is being withheld at the request of the family.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department offers its condolences to the family during this difficult time.
