Details:

On August 13, 2020, at about 3:07 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the parking lot of a business complex in the 8900 block of Limonite Ave., Jurupa Valley. Upon arrival, deputies located a male suffering from gunshot wounds, and began life-saving measures. A crime scene was found and secured, and multiple witnesses were identified. An uninvolved second male was also struck by gunfire and sought his own transport to a local hospital for medical care. The first male with gunshot wounds succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The deceased subject was identified as Alejandro Barragan, 39 years of Jurupa Valley. The identity of the uninvolved gunshot victim will not be released. During the investigation, a handgun, several expended cartridge cases, and additional items of evidence were recovered.

This investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
