On Monday, August 24, 2020, at 8:00 A.M., deputies from the Lake Elsinore station responded to the area of Riverside Drive and Joy Street, regarding a report of an assault with a deadly weapon.  The investigation revealed the victim, a construction worker, was intentionally struck by a tan Mercedes.  The suspect fled the scene, in the vehicle, prior to deputies arriving.  Further investigation revealed the suspect vehicle was driven by John Veitch, a 37-year-old, white male adult, from the Lake Elsinore area.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 8:30 A.M., deputies responded to a business located in the 31000 block of Riverside Drive, regarding a robbery that had just occurred at a convenience store.  The suspect fled the location in a tan Mercedes.  The suspect was identified as John Veitch.

On Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at 12:00 P.M., deputies responded to the 18000 block of Collier Avenue, regarding a petty theft and criminal threats occurring at a convenience store.  The suspect fled on foot to a parked tan Mercedes located in the parking lot. Prior to leaving, the suspect drove to the front of the store and threatened employees. Further investigation identified the suspect as John Veitch.   

On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 10:00 A.M., deputies from the Lake Elsinore station responded to the area of Tenaja Road and Calle Pino in La Cresta, regarding a call of a suspicious person.  Deputies located John Veitch parked on the side of the road in a tan Mercedes.  John Robert Veitch (37 years of Lake Elsinore) was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Robbery, criminal threats, and theft.
