On Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 7:00 PM, members of the San Gorgonio Special Operations Regional Gang Task Force (Region 2) conducted a pedestrian check in the 2800 block of West Ramsey Street in the city of Banning. The subject was identified as Vincent Lucero, a 29 year old resident of Banning. During the pedestrian check it was discovered that Lucero is a documented gang member and is currently on parole with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. A search was conducted of Lucero.  During the search of Lucero, it was discovered he was concealing a large knife and a stun gun in his waistband. Lucero was placed under arrest for being in possession of a dirk or dagger and being a felon in possession of a stun gun. It was also discovered Lucero had an active extraditable felony warrant for his arrest out of the state of Oklahoma. 

Lucero was booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility for the following charges.  

  • Possession of a Dirk or Dagger
  • Felon in Possession of a Stun Gun
  • Parole Violation
  • Felony Warrant 

The Riverside County Gang Task Force is a collaborative effort of several law enforcement agencies with the goal of combating criminal street gangs. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Regional Gang Task Force is one of six teams which compose the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force. The San Gorgonio Special Operations Gang Task Force is staffed with members from the Banning Police Department, Beaumont Police Department and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
