Details:
On Monday, November 23, 2020, a deputy assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station responded to the 7000 block of Pheasant Run Rd, in the City of Jurupa Valley regarding a shooting at an unoccupied vehicle. The suspect(s) drove up in a vehicle and fired several rounds at vehicles parked at the residence. Subsequently, the suspect(s) drove away and fled the scene. At the time of the initial investigation, it was believed the shooting was possibly gang related; however, no suspects were initially arrested or identified.
Deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team (SET) immediately assumed this investigation. During their follow up investigation, they were able to locate video surveillance that captured images of the incident and the suspect(s) vehicle used during the commission of this crime.
Through their investigation, SET deputies were able to identify and locate the suspect vehicle and obtained suspect identification linking them to the shooting.
On December 2, 2020, at 11:00 AM, SET deputies along with members of the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB), served a search warrant in the 13700 block of Arrow Blvd., in the city of Fontana. Multiple items of evidence linking the suspect to the shooting including firearms were located during the service of this search warrant.
Efforts to locate additional suspect as well as other persons of interest in this investigation are ongoing. A juvenile suspect was booked into the Riverside County Juvenile Hall for possession of a prohibited rifle, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of control substances for sale, possession of a short barrel rifle and criminal threats.
