Details:

On Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at 2:52 A.M., deputies from the San Jacinto Station responded to the intersection of North Cawston Ave. and Cottonwood Ave., San Jacinto, in reference to an assault with a deadly weapon. Investigation revealed the victim was sitting in his vehicle near the intersection when he was approached by an unidentified suspect. The suspect brandished a firearm and began firing at the victim in his vehicle. As the victim was driving away from the shooter, he sustained a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was later released. Investigation regarding this incident is continuing. If you have any information regarding this incident, please contact Investigator Martinez at the Hemet Station at (951) 791-3400.
