Details:
On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, an inmate was under the care of local hospital staff for pre-existing medical issues unrelated to his incarceration. Deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Robert Presley Detention Center, provided security for this inmate while he was being treated. At 7:09 pm, the inmate’s condition declined. Medical staff assigned to the hospital performed lifesaving measures. Despite advanced medical treatment, the inmate was pronounced deceased.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Corrections Intelligence Bureau responded and assumed the investigation. The identification of the decedent will not be released at this time pending notification to next of kin. There are no signs of foul play and due to the on-going status of the investigation, no further information is available at this time.
