Details:
Between the months of December 2019 through March 2020, there were nine armed robberies at convenience stores in the Cities of Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, and Murrieta. The suspect in each robbery was a male adult who brandished a handgun. Investigators and detectives from both the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Lake Elsinore Station and Murrieta Police worked together and identified a possible suspect. Their investigations revealed sufficient evidence to confirm a suspect in the robberies. On January 4, 2021, Murrieta Police Detectives arrested Christopher May, a 47-year-old, from the city of Murrieta. A search warrant served at his residence resulted in the recovery of evidence related to the robberies. May was booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center for multiple counts of robbery and using a firearm while in the commission of a felony.
