Details:

Moreno Valley, Calif. – Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Moreno Valley Station, conducted a DUI enforcement patrol on March 12, 2021. Though there were no arrests for driving under the influence, the following enforcement actions resulted from 16 traffic stops:

  • Eight citations were issued for moving violations.
  • Two drivers were arrested for driving without a license.
  • One driver was arrested for driving with a suspended license due to a previous DUI arrest.
  • One suspect was arrested for a felony warrant, while three other suspects were arrested for misdemeanor warrants.

Patrols are done in areas with a history of DUI crashes and arrests. Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license and possible jail time.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Moreno Valley Station, reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Prescription or over-the-counter medications with an operating heavy machinery warning on the label can also impair. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Moreno Valley Station, will be holding a series of DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to reduce the risk of serious injuries and deaths on our roadways.

Funding for this DUI Saturation Patrol was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
