On Tuesday April 02, 2019, about 2:30 AM, Jurupa Valley Patrol Deputies were dispatched to an armed robbery in the 5500 block of Mission Blvd. in Jurupa Valley. No one was injured or shot during the robbery. At the time of the robbery, there were limited investigative leads.
On Thursday April 04, 2019, Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force Officers from Region-7, assumed the investigation and began looking into newly obtained suspect information. After a lengthy investigation, Task Force Officers identified 20-year-old Michael Ramirez, 20-year-old Johnny Castillo, and 18-year-old Jose Cortez as the persons responsible for the armed robbery. All three suspects are Jurupa Valley residents and are active gang members of a local criminal street gang.
On May 9, 2019, Task Force Officers located all three suspects at a local Jurupa Valley business and placed them under arrest. All three suspects were later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on the below listed charges;
- Armed Robbery with a Firearm.
- Criminal Street Gang Membership.
