On Monday, July 21, 2020, about 1:35 AM, members of the Riverside County Regional Gang Taskforce, Region 7, and members of the Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team, conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a subject who was speeding through the residential streets near Linares and Townsend in Jurupa Valley. The driver, 37-year-old Aaron Pedigo, a resident of Jurupa Valley, was detained for speeding and driving on a suspended license.
While conducting their investigation, taskforce officers requested the assistance of a narcotics detection dog. Police K-9 “Wrex” and his handler arrived to assist. “Wrex” conducted an exterior sniff of Pedigo’s vehicle and alerted to the odor of a controlled substance. An interior search of Pedigo’s vehicle yielded a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, an estimated street value of $10,000.00 dollars.
Taskforce Officers arrested Pedigo and transported him to the Robert Presley Detention Center on the below listed charges;
- 11378 (a) Health and Safety Transportation for Sales
- 30305 P.C. Convicted Felon in Possession of Ammunition
The Region 7 Gang Task Force is one of six teams composing the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, with the goal of combating criminal street gangs throughout Riverside County. The Region 7 Gang Task Force is composed of members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and California Highway Patrol.
