Details:
On 03/22/19, Task Force Officers (TFO) from the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force conducted a probation compliance check on Jose Angel Briones in the 44000 block of Merced Road in the unincorporated areas of Hemet, CA. During the search, ammunition and a destructive device (pipe bomb) were located at the residence.
The residents surrounding the location were evacuated due to the destructive nature of the device. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept.- Hazardous Device Team (HDT) responded to the scene to address the potential threat of the device. The destructive device was rendered safe by HDT. Local residents were inconvenienced for approximately 3 hours.
