On 04/19/19, Task Force Officers (TFO) from the Hemet/San Jacinto Valley Gang Task Force assisted the Hemet Police Department detectives with a robbery investigation that occurred in the city of Hemet on 04/18/19. Their investigation led them to the city of Moreno Valley with one of the suspects having ties to a criminal street gang. While in the area, Task force officers spotted the vehicle and the suspects in the area of Sunnymead Ranch Pkwy and Heacock St., in the city of Moreno Valley. Task force officers and Hemet PD detectives attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to yield and led officers in a pursuit throughout the northern portion of the city of Moreno Valley and partially on the W/B 60 freeway. Moreno Valley Police Department K-9 Unit and Riverside Police Department airship “Air-1” assisted with the pursuit. After 22 minutes of pursuing the suspects, the vehicle stopped in the 24100 block of Badger Springs Trail, Moreno Valley. Several Moreno Valley PD deputies assisted at the termination of the pursuit with taking the suspects into custody. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident.
Both suspects were transported to the Hemet Police Department where detectives conducted further investigation. They were later booked into the Riverside County Jail for the following charges:
