Details:
On June 2, 2021 at 7:00 A.M, members of the Southern Coachella Valley Community Service District Team (SCVCSDT) and the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT) served a search warrant in the 83-400 block of Capricorn Avenue in the city of Indio. The search warrant stemmed from a felony vandalism case which occurred on March 19, 2021. During the incident the suspect was identified as Michael Romero, 27 of Indio. Romero sprayed painted graffiti casing approximately $2,500 in damage. During the service of the search warrant Enrique Maldonado, 28 of Indio, was found to be in possession of a .38 caliber handgun and cocaine. Maldonado was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center (JBDC) in the city of Indio for possession of cocaine, possession of narcotics while armed, and felony child endangerment. Romero was booked at JBDC for felony vandalism.
