On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the California Department of Fish and Wildlife served five marijuana cultivation related search warrants at five separate residences / properties located in the following unincorporated areas of Sage and Anza:

  • Parcel of land near Hobbiton Road x Empty Saddle Road, Sage
  • Parcel of land near Endor Lane X Hobbiton Road, Sage
  • 35000 block of Bronaugh Way, Sage
  • 39000 block of Spanish Bayonet, Anza
  • 39000 block of Ivan Road, Anza

During the service of the search warrants, approximately 4,445 marijuana plants were eradicated, and 2,800 pounds of processed marijuana was collected, for a total combined weight of over two and a half tons. One firearm (handgun) was also collected for evidence.

No suspects were located at the properties during the service of the search warrants. Follow up investigation is being conducted to identify the subjects responsible for the illegal marijuana cultivation operations.

The goal of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is to keep all of our citizens safe while also improving the quality of life for those residing within the community. Marijuana cultivation negatively impacts the environment in many ways including diminishing and poisoning the water table and pesticides adversely affecting the health of neighboring residents.
