On June 8, 2021, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Station SET team, along with members of the Lake Elsinore Station Investigations bureau, served a search warrant in the area of El Toro Road X Ellie Way, in the city of Lake Elsinore, reference an illegal marijuana grow.
During the service of the search warrant, a large-scale outdoor marijuana grow was located with approximately 5100 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, and several pounds of processed marijuana. The estimated value of the plants was over three million dollars. Four suspects were arrested at the marijuana grow, Elias Vidal ( age 36), Gilberto Vidal (age 32), Loretto Navarro (age 26), and Jaime Vidal (age 19), all residents of Lake Elsinore were booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center on the charge of marijuana cultivation.
