On Monday, June 7, 2021, at 5:22 am, deputies from the Thermal Station, responded to Calle Sinaloa and Avenida Mendoza regarding a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian. Deputies arrived on scene and located an adult male victim in the roadway who was unconscious and suffering from major injuries. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to the deputies arrival. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. The La Quinta Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
On Saturday, June 12, 2021, the victim, identified as 30-year-old Obed Heredia Palomino of La Quinta, had succumbed to his injuries.
This is an active and ongoing investigation. The Thermal Station is asking for the public’s assistance in locating the suspect of this hit and run investigation.
