On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at 7:00 A.M., personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department assigned to the Cabazon Station, with the assistance of Riverside County Code Enforcement, served a marijuana cultivation related search warrant in the 500 block of Trouble Court in the unincorporated community of Cherry Valley. During the service of the warrant, a total of 300 marijuana plants were eradicated, with an estimated weight of .20 of a ton. Paul Yang, 71 year old resident of Banning, was arrested for Marijuana Cultivation and booked into jail.
The goal of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is to keep all our citizens safe while also improving the quality of life for those residing within the community. Marijuana cultivation negatively impacts the environment in many ways, including diminishing and poisoning the water table and pesticides adversely affecting the health of neighboring residents.
