Details:
On June 25, 2021, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Station Special Enforcement Team served a search warrant in the 32700 block of Ortega Highway, in the unincorporated area of Lake Elsinore/Cleveland National Forest, reference an illegal marijuana grow.
During the service of the search warrant, a large-scale outdoor marijuana grow was located with approximately 4000 marijuana plants in various stages of growth. The estimated value of the plants was over one million dollars. In addition to the marijuana plants, a large sum of U.S. currency and a rifle were located.
Christopher Sly, age 55, a resident of Lake Elsinore and Bartolo Chavez, age 53, were arrested and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center for marijuana sales and marijuana cultivation.
